  1. Edathua Backwaters  Edathua is an inland water way of ‘Kuttanadu’ (which is known as the rice bowl of Kerala). Guests can experience the traditional cuisine and methods of villagers on a boat ride through the small canals. Distance – 12 kms / 20 minutes
  2. Edathuva Church Edathua Palli (church) is located on the banks of River Pamba. Pilgrims across Kerala and Tamil Nadu visit this Church as it is believed that praying here cures mental illness. The major feast held at the church in the month of May attracts a large crowd. Distance – 12 kms
  3. Mannaersala Temple The famous ” Mannaersala temple for Serpents ” is a unique temple for snakes.Distance – 22 kms / 45 minutes
  4. Sree Vallabha Temple It is one of the oldest and colorful temples in Central Kerala. A 10-day festival is held in the month of February where devotees’ offer 12,000 bunches of banana to the deity. It is also the only temple where the traditional art form of Kathakali is performed every day. Distance – 4 kms/ 10 minutes
  5. Champakulam Boat Race Chamakulam boat race is the oldest and most popular snake boat race in Kerala and is closely connected to the Sree Krishna Temple at Ambalappuzha. The race is held on the Champakulam Lake on the moolam day of the Malayalam month Midhunam, the day of the installation of the deity at the Temple.Distance – 23 kms / 50 minutes

Niranam Church According to historians, Niranam was a port city which had settlements of Romans, Jews and Greeks who were into spice trade. Niranam Church is one of the 8 churches originally built by St Thomas in 52 AD. Though the church was rebuilt many times later, it has a special significance in the History of Christianity in India.It is interesting to note that Christianity was embraced and accepted by the locals of Kerala much centuries before the Roman Empire officially accepted Christianity. Geologists suggest that sea retracted from this area due to some major geographical changes. Even today the soil of nearby areas of Niranam is sandy and resemble beaches though not in proximity to the sea.Distance – 8 kms / 20 minutes
  7. Parumala Church  Parumala Church is a major spiritual center for the Syrian Christian Orthodox Christians. It has the tomb of Saint Geevarghese Mar Gregorios popularly known as Parumala Thirumeni. Bishop Geevarghese Mar Gregorios was the first canonized Christian from India of the Eastern Church. Throughout the year hundreds of believers visit his tomb as it is believed that prayers through intercession of the Saint has relieved many of their suffering. A torch light procession was held on 26th October 2000 from ettikkal Dayara to Parumala Seminary. The procession marked the consecration of the new church. The consecration rites were led by his Holiness the Catholicos on 27th October 2000. The meeting for the consecration was held on 28th October 2000 in the presence of Arch Bishop Aghan Balizion, Mr. P.C. Alexander, Bishop Sarkissan, and various other dignitaries.Distance – 11 kms / 30 minutes
  8. Parumala Perunal In the last week of October, the annual festival is held at Parumala Church where thousands assemble to carry the decorated and colorful umbrellas along with traditional drummers. There are special services held on this day in the church. The annual festival commemorates the death anniversary of Bishop Mar Gregorios Metropolitan.

Yes. Ample parking space is available within the premises. For larger events, extra parking space can be arranged close to the property.

Yes, CVM House has a large landscape garden surrounding the house where the guest can host parties for 150 persons. An indoor party facility “Chaarthu” is also available and it can accommodate 40 persons.

The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport which is a 2.5 hour drive and 118 kms away from CVM House. The Trivandrum Airport is a 3 hour drive and 125kms away. The nearest railway station is Thiruvalla Railway Station which is just 3 kms away from the property. Thiruvalla Bus Station is also in close proximity at a distance of just 500 meters.

Yes, the in-house staff will assist the guests with all their needs round-the-clock. A receptionist and other housekeeping staff will also be present during regular office hours.

No, food and beverages are not provided at CVM House. However, the staff will guide and assist the guests to order excellent cuisines from popular caterers/restaurants, who deliver food to the property based on your orders to them. Guests also have the option of cooking their own meals in the two fully equipped kitchens (dry and wet) at CVM House.

CVM house is a century old heritage home that has been transformed to align with modern luxuries. One gets to experience the comfort and architecture of a typical Kerala Syrian Christian Home at CVM House. The garden surrounded the house is ideal to host garden parties.
There are 4 spacious bedrooms at CVM House which can comfortably accommodate 8 adults and 4 kids. Additionally, 2 extra beds can be provided at a fixed cost.
